to cancel bending stress & joint

I and Abe talked about the design on skype.
It may be better solution to join 2 different sin curve for canceling bending stress.
Joint of 2 sin curve is finger joint.

This is a joint as key to connect 2 sin curve.
It is put a slit of board of sin curve.
Next, it is twisted to tie the boards.

However, it will not transform...
So, It should be unitized and connect as sliding system of joint.

  1. I really like your sin curve idea.. i wonder if it is possible to create a screen that can expand and contract... or a static pattern where the size of the curves is informed by some data or parameter... like the opening size could be related to privacy requirements for a specific area, or environmental data...

  3. Yes, the sine curve is an excellent way to start understanding how the geometries and material properties that marcus has been exploring can be incorporated into the computational model

  4. As another note the transformation could be understood as a kit of parts that is assembled in different sequences or ways ... so that by generating a generic and flexible assemble different configurations can be built by putting the parts together differently
